  • Laughing and playing with my amazing wife, and two brilliant sons
  • Training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
  • Boating and fishing
  • Learning to code Java Script
  • Reading good books, mainly non-fiction

I also originate real estate investment loans in additional states. Call me for details.

More than you could possibly want to know about me:

In 1996 I was working as financial literacy advocate for a national bank, educating families on the fundamentals of budgeting and the principals of establishing and maintaining a positive credit history.

One day I had a conversation with a friend who was a top-producing real estate agent and he convinced me that I could have a significantly more positive impact on the financial health of families by combining a financial literacy curriculum with the ability to help them finance their first homes.

I was fascinated by the idea and found a local mortgage broker willing to give me a chance (I was young and had zero experience). I quickly became one of the top loan officers in the office, and absolutely fell in love with the mortgage business. I then joined a national correspondent lender. As my knowledge of the mortgage industry increased so did my opportunities. Shortly after was hired by a real estate firm to help them open a mortgage company. From there I was recruited by a small bank as an inside Account Executive working with mortgage brokers and smaller mortgage banks across the country. As my career advanced I eventually represented some of the largest mortgage banks in the country as an outside Account Executive in the Southwest region.

When the financial crisis hit in 2007, followed by the Great Recession of 2008, I decided to take a break from the mortgage industry, which had imploded by that point, and pursue one of my childhood dreams of publishing books. So I moved to New York and got after it.

The independent publishing business is a tough grind, and although I was fortunate enough to publish a bestselling book and be awarded the IBPA Benjamin Franklin award in 2010, I came to the realization that my dream of being a book publisher was much better than the reality of it.

After my short-lived career in publishing, I started and sold a small business, checking off another childhood dream.

Today I am thrilled to be doing what I truly love again; helping people with their real estate goals as an independent Loan Officer with NEXA Mortgage, a company with outstanding leadership, and currently the fastest growing mortgage brokerage in the country.
